ORIENTS: Task leader Svein Valland Laupstad (left) holds a press conference about the search work after a new person was found dead in Movatnet in Kvam. Here with Terje Sperrevik on his way to a press conference on Tuesday.

– Our main theory is still that all three should be in the upper part of Tokagjelet, but it is still possible that they have gone further down, Laupstad says.

Tonight, the police will have an interdisciplinary meeting to find out how they can get down in Tokagjelet and do new searches.

– Now relatively good weather has been reported with relatively little precipitation in the next few days. It gives less water in the river, says Laupstad.

It provides better conditions for using crew in the search work.

The task leader expresses sympathy for those affected by the accident.

– Our thoughts go to the relatives, he says.

The police also send a big thank you to everyone who has participated in the search work.

Demanding weather conditions

The three who were on their way home after a cabin trip were Ruth Wathne (68), Nils Johan Bårdsen (72) and Kjell Arne Pedersen, in addition to the dog Leo.

Throughout the week, there has been a large-scale search for the presumed dead.

Emergency services, volunteer rescue crews, rescue dogs and drones have participated in the search.

The last few days have been demanding weather conditions, which have prevented the crews from participating in the search.
