New director Henrijs Arājs has staged the play “My Father – Peter Pens” in Valmiera / Article

“Daniel, the protagonist of the story, returns to his childhood, where he learned a secret at the time – his father is Peter Pen, yes, the same flying boy from Nowhere, a boy with special abilities,” the show said in a statement. “Looking for answers to why his father so often forgot about his family, Daniel tries again to find them in this secret – this time he has grown up. A story of faith, responsibility, frustration, guilt and growth. Was it wrong to believe in my father? Was that fair? And maybe it will never be clear who he was. Peter Pen? Maybe Dad flew away because he couldn’t have done otherwise? ”

Director Henry Araj said of the work: “I was interested in this play on the subject of faith and disappointment. As mentioned in the show’s genre, this is a drama of growth. In the material, I found the little boy’s growth story compelling. The topic of fear has always been relevant to everyone, because we are all afraid, just the question of how we each deal with these fears or not. In this case, the father’s solution is paradoxical – he reveals to the boy that it is Peter Pen who has a remedy for fear. To what did it lead? About it in the show. ”
