On Wednesday, Nigel Malt (44) was sentenced to a minimum of 18 years in prison after killing his 19-year-old daughter, Lauren Malt. This was written by several British media outlets, including BBC.
The murder took place in Norfolk, in the east of England, on January 23 this year, when the father first supported his daughter, before overwhelming her. The murder is said to have occurred after repeated incidents involving both his daughter and wife.
Shortly before the murder, Malt is said to have threatened his daughter’s boyfriend with a crowbar.

Shocking details
In court it emerged that the father convicted of murder had called his wife and told her that one of their four children had died.
– I remember the conversation where he said: “I am coming with your daughter, she is dead,” his wife Karen Malt told the court.
Karen yelled into the phone for an answer as to which of the children had been killed and went on to say that she thought her daughter was fine since her father had driven her.
Her father then went to the shop where Karen worked, but when Karen opened the car door, she noticed.
– Then the horror began to come. I quickly realized that she was not going to survive, she told the court.
Turbulent relationship
The 19-year-old was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after. The autopsy report showed that she died of stomach and chest injuries.
A blood test taken from the convicted killer’s father showed he had more than double the legal alcohol limit when he committed the crime.
Independent who also discussed the case, writes that the relationship between the father and the family had been turbulent for a long time. His wife Karen also reported her father for abuse in April 2021.
