New details of the scandalous “Negreira case” have emerged. During the investigation, the President of the Barcelona Investigative Court, Joaquín Aguirre, discovered new details that could negatively affect the future of the Catalan club, El Debate reports.

According to the source, Judge Aguirre found that after his dismissal from the position of vice-president of the technical committee of referees in mid-2018, Negreira wrote a threatening letter to Bartomeu, in which he promised that he would “reveal a number of facts that could seriously harm the club if he is not continued to pay”.
According to the judge, “it follows that Henriques Negreira knew that quite serious illegal acts had been committed in favor of Barcelona.”
“The Negreira Case” is an accusation against Barcelona of bribes to Jose Maria Henriques Negreira, who served as vice-president of the Technical Committee of Referees of the Spanish Football Federation. From 2001 to 2018, Negreira received 7.3 million euros from the Catalans.
