More than 170 demonstrators gathered in front of the emergency doors of the Draguignan hospital, this Friday at 8 p.m. Like last week, they are protesting against the closing of night emergencies (between 8:30 p.m. and 8 a.m.) since October 29. A demonstration called for by the CGT, FO and Sud Santé intersyndicale.
Night emergencies are closed due to a lack of personnel. 12 out of 18 emergency physicians are missing to run the service properly. “We have to be in this degraded mode because it is dangerous for everyone, as much for the population as for the agents”, underlines Frédéric Duthe of the CGT at the Dracénie hospital center.
Only patients in vital emergency are welcomed at night until further notice. The others are dispatched to other hospitals in the Var.
