Mario Durán, mayor of San Salvador, through social network X, announced the start of Phase 4 of the Revitalization of the Historic Center of San Salvador.

“With a new voluntary mobilization of more than 250 self-employed merchants for the liberation and organization of more than 16 blocks of the downtown,” the mayor reported.

However, it is known that the mayor’s office threatens the vendors with applying the State of Exception law to them, if they do not demobilize “voluntarily.”

“This new mobilization adds to the more than 200 blocks that we have already freed for the recovery of our center,” Durán reiterated.

However, many of the vendors who were previously evicted have stated difficulties in reestablishing and normalizing their sales.

Mayor Durán also noted in his message “the work does not stop and we will continue the legacy of our President @nayibbukele. “The heart of El Salvador beats stronger than ever!”
