Recently, the president of EPS Sanitas, Juan Pablo Rueda, gave his testimony following the announcement by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection to request the Comptroller’s Office to lift the corporate veil of the EPS, as well as the certification of non-compliance with the EPS by the Superintendency of Health, related to minimum assets and technical reserves, so that the Administrator of the Resources of the General Health Social Security System (Adres) can make the direct transfer with the providers of the health entity.
Under this situation, Rueda requested a meeting with Minister Guillermo Alfonso Jaramillo to talk about the situation and reach a consensus. However, the president of Sanitas said that the two have not spoken again since August 27.
“We want to look for that space, where we can openly dialogue, so that he knows our perspective and conclusions about this situation and through that space we can find solutions that really serve to improve the health situation of EPS Sanitas members,” he assured.
As clarified by the general director of Adres, Félix León, the entity only owes six million pesos to the EPS, and not the 780,000 million pesos, as Sanitas claims.
“Adres does not accept that this EPS says that it is owed 780,000 million pesos. They refer to some debts that have been reported to them in Fosyga, in the previous Government. The accounts have been rejected and they insist on maintaining an asset on the balance sheet that is totally irregular. With this they maintain the story that the Government owes them money that it does not owe them.“Leon emphasized.

Minister Guillermo Alfonso Jaramillo, in statements for the station ‘Caracol Radio’, in response to what was said by the president of the EPS, assured that, in effect, he has met with other health entities, but that he has also received Sanitas in his office recently.
“We have started with five techniques and 18 of the EPS have participated. In my office I received EPS Sanitas and Compensar on August 14 and November 3. “I dialogue with the heads of their associations,” stated the portfolio manager.
