Between Monday morning and Tuesday morning, the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment had received 4,547 reports of positive tests and the previous 24 hours 4,575. For the fourth day in a row, the number of new cases exceeded 4,000. More than 29,000 new infections have been reported in the past seven days.

The number of deaths rose by 36, including five deceased patients in the regions of Brabant-Zuidoost, Kennemerland and Utrecht. That’s not to say that all of these people died in the past 24 hours. Such information is sometimes passed on with some delay. Between Monday morning and Tuesday morning, 21 deaths were reported and the deaths of 112 corona patients have been recorded in the past seven days.
Big cities
Amsterdam registered 461 positive tests last 24 hours. 326 infections came to light in Rotterdam and 251 people in The Hague were told that they had contracted the corona virus. Another 185 people tested positive in the city of Utrecht. In the Brabant-Southeast region (Eindhoven and the surrounding area), the number of infections rose by almost 300. The regions of Hollands Midden, Kennemerland, Central and West Brabant and Twente also had more than 200 positive tests.

Since the start of the outbreak in February, the virus has been diagnosed in 149,988 people in the Netherlands. On Thursday, the Netherlands will exceed the limit of 150,000 infections. The number of confirmed deaths rose to over 6,500 on Wednesday. Since February, more than 13,000 people have been hospitalized for corona infection.
The 100,000th infection was registered on September 23. At the current rate, the Netherlands will pass the 200,000 positive test mark in mid-October.
