MOSCOW, Feb.8 (Xinhua) – Russia has registered 15,916 cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. This is the first time since October 22 that the daily increase has fallen below 16,000, the country’s COVID-19 response center said on Monday.
The national total therefore rose to 3,983,197, with 77,068 deaths and 3,472,091 recoveries, the center said.
Moscow, the worst-affected region in the country, reported 1,728 new cases, up from 2,028 the day before, bringing the city’s total to 945,452.
Nearly 104.8 million tests for COVID-19 have been performed nationwide.
