Dacia has shown a number of teaser images of both the new Sandero and the new Logan in recent weeks. The sober Romanian models are entering the next generation and today the Sandero, Sandero Stepway and the Logan Sedan in 2021 trim can be admired in full from the outside. What the brand new trio will look like on the inside is still a little mystery.
Not only do we have to do without images of the interior of the Romanians for the time being, Dacia also keeps extensive technical specifications under its cap. There is one notable absentee: the Logan MCV. Dacia does not yet say a word about the arrival of a new station wagon version of the Logan. It is not inconceivable that the Logan MCV will not return, which could be due to the success of the Duster. The current Logan Sedan is not available in the Netherlands. We are still awaiting a response from the Dutch importer about the arrival of a new Logan MCV and about the possible return of the Logan Sedan to our country.
The new Sandero and Logan are clearly recognizable as Dacia, but are topped with a fresh design language. In the revised, significantly flatter headlamps, Dacia has incorporated a Y-light signature, a design element that Dacia says is returning to more models. The whole thing is somewhat Audi-like. In keeping with tradition, the Sandero Stepway is the adventurous variant of the Sandero, which with its increased ground clearance and bumper work with black accents and silver skid plates looks as if it feels at home off the asphalt. The word Stepway can be read under the grille.
Dacia will present the modified trio in its entirety to the public at the end of this year. It will then also become known what is hiding under the coach of the cars. The time has passed when Dacia’s have to make do with old Renault engines. The current models are already available with the modern TCe’s from the French parent company. In addition to petrol versions, you can also count on versions that like LPG. After all, recently a completely new BiFuel machine presented, which is already available in various models of the brand. It is not yet known when Dacia will present the models exactly, but that will be a matter of weeks rather than months.
Dacia Netherlands
Since the reintroduction of Dacia in the Netherlands, the brand has enticed about 52,500 people to buy one of the Romanian models. With more than 20,000 units sold, the Logan has proven to be the most popular model in our country, followed by the Sandero and the Duster, of which more than 17,000 and nearly 11,000 units respectively left the showroom. The ultimate prize pack is perhaps the Lodgy, the MPV available with both five and seven seats, which is by far the cheapest ballroom on wheels on the Dutch market. Only nearly 3,000 copies have been sold since 2012. Just under 1,000 copies of the Dokker have been sold to date.
