The billion-dollar construction will also include a new re-route of the I/16 road with a turbo roundabout.
The Directorate of Roads and Highways (ŘSD) applied for a building permit for the westernmost and northernmost section of the D35 highway, the highway bypass of the village of Úlibice in Jičínsk. The RSD wants to start its construction next year.
In the issue of permitting highway constructions, the new Transport and Energy Construction Office (DESÚ), which was established on January 1st as a new organization dealing with territorial management and construction permits for the most important transport and energy infrastructure, is the first time. Some highway constructions have already appeared on the official board of the office, but they were only parts of them or taking over management. The bypass of the village of Úlibice is the first completely new highway construction that will be tackled.
From January, the construction of highways and railways will be dealt with by a new super-office with more than a hundred people
The new route of the highway will be 1.6 kilometers long, its main part will be the interchange on the northern edge of the village, which will solve the connection to roads I/35 and I/16 and, in the future, to the new route of road I/35 from Turnovo. At the other end, it connects to the section Úlibice – Hořice, which has had a building permit since last year.
ŘSD has a building permit for another part of D35. The Úlibice – Hořice section wants to start construction next year
The estimated cost of the construction is 1.071 billion crowns, part of which is also the realignment of the existing road I/16. The existing road I/35 from the roundabout through the village to the connection to D35 will eventually be reassigned to the road network II. class, as road II/635. The crossing of road I/16 is designed in category S 20.75/90 with a length of 845 meters, it will lead 55 meters from the existing route of the road. A spiral turbo roundabout with a diameter of 60 meters will be created on it. As part of the realignment, separate bus stops will be added, including an underpass for pedestrians and a bicycle path. Around 22,000 vehicles pass through the existing intersection every day.
The construction is described in detail in information leaflet.
