New CT scan in Battipaglia, it’s a joke: they’re moving it to Eboli

Waiting in vain. Waiting for the long-awaited installation of the CT machine that was supposed to replace the hospital’s eternally broken device was useless Holy Mary of Hope after 16 years of honorable (not in recent times) career. The device was put into operation, but at Our Lady of Sorrows Of Eboli. At the gates of the Sele Plain they will have to wait for the purchase of new equipment, perhaps a few kilos lighter, to hope to calmly subject patients to computerized tomography.
In the past few weeks the device purchased over three years ago at the cost of 700 thousand euros to replace the obsolete device installed in the department of Radiology of the hospital of Battipaglia was diverted to Eboli.

The devices

At Maria Santissima Addolorata, now, there are three CT scanners, while at Santa Maria della Speranza there is only one that is half-serviced. This can be witnessed by the unfortunate patients who, in the last week, have been forced to wait for hours at the doors of the emergency room, often “parked” inside ambulances, because they were sent by the operations center of the 118 at the garrison of via Fiorignano despite the umpteenth breakdown of the dilapidated Battipaglia device. In recent days, a motorcyclist with a serious chest injury even arrived at Santa Maria della Speranza after a road accident: when 118 then ordered the transfer to another facility, a doctor from the Battipaglia emergency room, as is standard practice, climbed aboard the ambulance and escorted him to the destination facility, then accepted a ride in the car from the motorcyclist’s family in order to return to via Fiorignano more quickly.
