New Côte du Rhône from Domaine Boisson

It is in Cairanne, between Rhône and Ventoux that this Côte du Rhône Nouveau is produced. From the youngest vines of the estate, it is unpretentious, centered on the fruit. It is a wine of pleasure to be savored as an aperitif and with everyday cooking.

At Domaine Boisson, the grape is the crux of the wine. The vines are cultivated in Organic Agriculture (Certification in 2020), the soils are plowed, manual work accompanies the vines throughout the year. The grapes are de-stemmed or not depending on the vintage and/or the grape variety, the macerations are gentle, the aging takes place either in concrete vats or in large-capacity barrels (Foudre and demi-muids) to respect the fruit as much as possible.

A blend of Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah, this new wine, vintage 2022, has the character of a sincere wine, a tad rebellious. Without artifice, it is made without input, only with the natural yeasts of the grape. It reflects Bruno and Virginie Boisson’s state of mind: greedy, joyful and free.

Frank, authentic and whole, this wine reveals an explosion of fruit in the mouth: cherry, strawberry, blueberry… It accompanies gourmets throughout the winter, from the aperitif around a board, a good sausage, a terrine of pork and chicken liver. At the table, it is a delight for lovers of simple dishes such as a puff pastry with ham, a pudding mash, a crumble of leeks with Morteau sausage…

The Côte du Rhône Nouveau from Domaine Boisson is available at the domain online storepriced at €8.50 a bottle.
