New corona relaxation for sport – SWR Sport

The state governments of Baden-Württemberg and Rhineland-Palatinate have further adjusted their corona regulations due to the falling incidences. Sport is also affected by the new version. SWR Sport has summarized the changes at a glance.

Relaxation for sport in Baden-Württemberg

Depending on the infection rate in the respective city or district, club sports in Baden-Württemberg can look forward to further easing from Monday (June 7). In addition to the rules that have been in force since May 14, there are new additions and adjustments.

Club sports can now also take place outside of sports facilities with 20 participants from the 1st opening level (incidence on five consecutive working days below 100). Forest runs are thus possible again. In addition, several such groups are allowed to do sports separately from one another in the spacious outdoor areas.

Competitions are also possible again

Sports competitions are also permitted again from opening level 1. The number of participants is limited to 20 people. The number of participants does not apply to low-contact sport in opening level 2 (after level 1 further decrease in incidence over 14 days) and opening level 3 (after level 2 further decrease in incidence over 14 days).

It should be noted that an incidence of less than 50 on five consecutive working days also – without the 14-day period – provides for a classification in the 3rd opening level. There is also a new level that takes effect on five consecutive working days from an incidence of 35. From this level onwards, the existing test requirement does not apply to the participants.

Spectators allowed again at competitions

Spectators who want to support their club or their athletes can also look forward to it. The following rules apply:

  • 1st opening level: 100 spectators permitted outdoors
  • 2nd opening level: 250 spectators permitted outdoors, 100 in closed rooms
  • 3rd opening level: 500 spectators permitted outdoors, 250 in closed rooms
  • Incidence on five consecutive working days below 35: 750 spectators permitted outdoors

New regulations also in Rhineland-Palatinate

Rhineland-Palatinate has also revised its Corona regulation from May 21st. New resolutions for sport have been in effect since June 2nd. With an incidence of less than 100, outdoor training (including contact sports) with ten participants plus a trainer is possible. Children up to 14 years of age are allowed to do sports outdoors in a group of 25 participants. Fully vaccinated and recovered are not counted.

If the incidence falls below 50, the maximum number of participants outside increases to 20 people. Contact-free indoor sport is then also possible with a negative test result. The number is limited to 10 people doing sports. Children are allowed to practice indoor contact sports with 25 participants.

Prime Minister Malu Dreyer also held out the prospect of further relaxation for sport in the next few weeks as the number of infections continued to decline.
