Not only the riders underwent a corona test on Monday’s rest day, the other members of the caravan were also checked.
The result was positive for no fewer than 17 police officers. They show no symptoms, but have of course been quarantined.
It is not yet clear whether there is a danger for the peloton.
According to the initial report, the agents would have stayed in the same hotel as some Giro teams for several days.
