New Construction and Infrastructure Collective Labor Agreement for 2024 Announced and Approved by Unions

On December 13, it was announced that the unions, after consulting their supporters, had agreed to the final offer that employers made on November 24 to adjust the collective labor agreement. This makes the new construction and infrastructure collective labor agreement a fact. The collective labor agreement applies for a period from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024.

Important points from the new collective labor agreement:

  • During the term of the collective labor agreement, wages will be increased twice:
    • 1-1-2024 3.5% plus 50 euros per month structurally (part-time pro rata)
    • 1-7-2024 3.5% plus 50 euros per month structurally (part-time pro rata)
  • The new job and salary structure will be introduced on December 31, 2024. This way, companies still have a year to prepare for this.
  • The position of executor will be added to the heavy work scheme with effect from 1 January 2024.

George Raessens, chairman of the employers’ negotiating delegation: “We are pleased that the unions have agreed to this fair and realistic final offer. With this historically high wage increase, employers are demonstrating the importance of a good collective labor agreement to attract and retain staff. Both employers and employees are also happy that we have been able to expand the heavy work scheme with the position of executor. ”

We are working hard to convert the agreements into official collective labor agreement texts, so that the collective labor agreement can be registered with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment and submitted for declaration as generally binding.
