This is what the new Gotham Health Roosevelt clinic looks like, located in Jackson Heights with the mission of caring for patients suffering from the consequences of the coronavirus.
“Here we have primary care for the whole family, and for patients who have long-term effects of COVID-19,” explained Dr. Atif Muhammad.
The clinic, COVID19 Center of Excellence in Gotham Heatlh Roosevelt, is located in one of the neighborhoods hardest hit by the coronavirus.
37 percent of Queens residents have tested positive for the coronavirus in the Jackson Heights area.
This clinic, located at 72nd Street and Roosevelt Avenue, will welcome patients who have overcome the disease but now need follow-up in their medical care.
It is the only clinic in Queens that has the space and tools to receive patients with pulmonary, radiological and even mental health effects.
“There are many people who are very tired after COVID, every day. He has mental problems, ”added Dr. Muhammad.
In addition, patients who come to this center will be able to receive low-cost or free medical care regardless of their immigration status. This is determined by the income of each family.
“There are many people who do not know that there is a place to go when they have these symptoms after COVID or for primary care,” said the doctor.
It is a medical center that has 20 exam rooms and specialists for each member of the family.
Specialty services include cancer diagnostics, gynecology, dental and vision care, diabetes management, podiatry, and radiology.
Each room has the latest technology tools for patient care.
