On September 13 and 14, 2023, the Czech Republic will be one of the few countries where the new Claas Xerion 12.650 Terra-Trac crawler tractor will be presented to the general public at work. This will happen as part of the Farmer’s Day event – it is a nationwide contracting exhibition and demonstration of agricultural technology, with demonstrations of municipal, garden and forestry technology.
The Claas Xerion 12.650 Terra-Trac tractor will be operated by the Czech racing driver Tomáš Enge! The set will be seen at work on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, when the program will cover manipulators and belt tillage. On the exhibition area with Claas technology, it will be on display in the form of a static demonstration on both days.
Tomas Enge is a Czech car racer, the first and so far the only Czech Formula 1 pilot. He is the son of another successful Czech car racer, Břetislav Enge, and the brother of racer Lucie Enge. In 2001 he competed in three races for the Prost team. On December 10, 1999, he was the first Czech to test a Formula 1 car.
The new generation of the Claas Xerion 12 tractor is faithful to the proven concept. It continues to use a highly flexible center frame and bolt-on crossmembers for increased strength. However, the concept has been modified to withstand higher engine power, higher machine weight and wider track unit widths.

The tractor’s power is supplied by a Mercedes-Benz engine with a low-revving concept. Specifically, it is a six-cylinder OM473 LA engine with a displacement of 15.6 liters. The engine combines huge torque with low fuel consumption and low maintenance costs. The Claas Xerion 12.650 tractor model offers up to 653 horsepower. The engine cooperates with the Cmatic (ZF Eccom 6.0) smooth transmission of the latest generation, which is gentle on the connected machines when starting and decelerating.
The cabin of the new Claas Xerion 12 tractor was extended by 27 cm in the front part. According to the manufacturer, this is the largest cabin in the premium tractor segment. The functions of the tractor and the attached implement are controlled via the ergonomic armrest with the Cmotion multifunction control lever and the Cebis touch terminal. The tractor has Terra Trac 400 track units with an integrated damping system from Claas.
