We decided to present the new coupe crossover C4X or BMW X4 in the French taste of the Citroen model range to an independent expert – the director of DBS Autoskola, Jānis Vankas. He always liked Citroen’s boldness and willingness to experiment.
Although the vanguard of the old Citroen days has passed into history, the spirit of unrest is still alive. The C4X is a combination of a fastback, a sedan and a crossover that doesn’t look like a compact car at all. The C4X is a fastback C4 extended by 24 centimeters, which Citroen started producing instead of the usual compact hatchback. The crossover format has many practical advantages – it’s easier to get in and out, transparency is also better. Along with the transformation into the crossover C4 and therefore also the extended C4X, the ground clearance was increased. The C4X is all about comfort. You can still get this Citroen not only with internal combustion engines, but even with diesel. The French themselves would like a one and a half liter HDI with 131 horsepower and an eight-speed automatic transmission, but nothing – in Western Europe, the C4X is only electric.
