- Rental of commercial space at Fahrschule Eckhardt
In Duisburg-Bissingheim, the new day care center “Alle meine Freund” has been offering space for nine children since February 1st. The housing company Vonovia is renting out a 100 square meter shop to the day-care center for this purpose. It was rebuilt in advance according to the ideas and specifications for child-friendly care.
Securing the care offer
The day care center is run by Stefanie Jansen and Rebecca Iljazi: “We are delighted that our day care started so well. Our childcare places are full. In total, we take care of nine children between the ages of one and three years. The adjustment has been successful – the shop offers a lot of space to play and romp thanks to the conversion.”
Beate Lieske, district mayor in the south of Duisburg, is pleased about the expansion of the offers in Bissingheim: “This is good news for the district and at the same time a positive signal for the quality of life in the entire south of Duisburg.”
Other advantages for the district
The Eckhardt driving school has now moved into the outbuilding, which previously housed a butcher’s shop, after extensive renovation work. Driving school operator Martin Eckhardt opened his third driving school in Duisburg at the end of January.
Vonovia regional manager Sebastian Hiese-Brakonier sees the advantages for the district: “We are pleased that we have found a way together so that the commercial properties can be occupied again quickly. The driving school is an important offer in the district. With the reopening of the daycare center, we have already established seven daycare centers in our Duisburg portfolio. For us as a housing company, a good range of care services around our houses is important, so a location remains attractive.”
