Chelsea’s new owners, American Todd Boehly and Iranian Behdad Eghbali, are planning to build a new stadium for the club.
Tear down Stamford Bridge and build a new stadium there, or move to a new address? This is the question that the new owners of Chelsea would ask themselves: the American Todd Boehly and the Iranian Behdad Eghbali.
According to The Telegraph, the duo wants the Blues to have the most modern stadiums in Europe and would like to achieve this by 2030. The decision therefore seems to have been taken. The same source mentions that demolishing and rebuilding and buying land next to the stadium, is the highest probability so far. Home to the club since 1905, Stamford Bridge has a capacity of 40,000. The intention is to increase the capacity to at least 55,000 people.
