London –
Chelsea it hasn’t improved even though it brought in a lot of players last January. Graham Potter as the manager asked the fans to be patient.
Chelsea is indeed the most aggressive team in the transfer market last winter. They spent more than 200 million pounds to bring in seven players.
Enzo Fernandez was the most expensive because he spent 106.7 million pounds, followed by Mykhailo Mudryk with 62 million pounds.
The hope is that Chelsea’s performance will improve and they can climb to the top of the standings. Unfortunately, the results have not been in accordance with the wishes of Chelsea officials and their fans.
Chelsea is still having a hard time looking okay because it ended its last three matches in the Premier League with a draw. Chelsea are now slumped in ninth position standings with 31 points.
Finally, when West Ham United drew 1-1, Mudryk returned to the table and only played 67 minutes. Luckily Joao Felix and Enzo Fernandez were able to collaborate to produce Chelsea’s goal.
Potter is of course the most highlighted because the presence of new players has not helped him win. According to Potter, the players needed time to adapt to the team’s playing style.
He asked fans to be patient waiting for the best performance from Enzo Fernandez et al.
“I just said that from a performance standpoint they are all getting better,” Graham Potter was quoted as saying ESPN.
“You can see the potential of this team, but you also have to see our efforts to accelerate the recovery of Ben Chilwell, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, N’Golo Kante, Wesley Fofana, while helping Mudryk adapt to the Premier League, Noni Madueke, then Benoit Badiashile, and also Joao Felix.”
“Yeah that’s the process, that’s how I see it and I’m just trying to be honest about what the process is like. I understand people are frustrated when you don’t win.”
