Community Conversations, or Community Chats, have already arrived on Messenger and Facebook applications in Europe, to help people connect in real time to communities that address issues that concern them, through text, audio and video, reveals Meta .
This novelty works in a chat and audio call format, with the aim of making it easier to discuss specific topics in smaller groups and create a deeper connection with the community in real time.
Additionally, users can use Community Chats to organize chats into categories so that group members can easily find what interests them. For example, a band’s fan group might have a “Latest News” category with chats dedicated to new album releases, concert dates and group activities.
These chats are divided into several categories, allowing communities to choose the one that best suits their interests. There are like this: chats for group members on a specific topic; event chats for an outing or a date; view-only chats, for admins to announce major updates to groups; audio channels for a maximum group of 30 people to share live commentary or receive real-time support.
Given the more public nature of this tool, Meta has developed a set of measures to help admins easily manage chat and audio experiences, including:
- Moderation features such as blocking, muting, or suspending group members, and removing members or messages;
- Admin Assistance, which allows admins to set criteria that automatically suspend users, remove reported messages, and stop messages from authors who are ineligible or contain content that shouldn’t be shared.
