It will be possible to know at this time whether the 40-year-old suspect is accused of murdering Pierre Bélisle.

Human remains of the 74-year-old man were discovered last week at the Cacouna landfill.

Chassé is currently facing three charges: inciting hatred, recklessly discharging a firearm and carrying a weapon with a dangerous purpose.

$20,000 operation

Furthermore, the major police operation which took place in Cacouna generated significant costs, particularly for the municipality.

The owner of the building, in which the man in crisis was arrested, however, agreed to pay the bill.

Remember that the tenants of Place Saint-Georges had to be evacuated, due to a man who was armed and barricaded inside his accommodation.

The municipality has not finished calculating the full costs, but the bill could be around $20,000.

This amount mainly includes accommodation for evacuated citizens. Of this number, 24 slept at the hotel the first evening, and around fifteen had to stay there for two or even three nights.

These costs also include meals, transportation costs and even gift cards provided by the Red Cross to those who had to leave their homes without money or personal belongings.

The owner of the building, however, raised his hand and agreed with the municipality that he would reimburse the entire bill, to avoid taxpayers having to pay.
