Prince Philip and Oprah Winfrey
The revelatory book “Finding Freedom” about the story of Duchess Meghan (39) and Prince Harry (36) caused a sensation several times last year. After its release in August 2020, it became a bestseller. Now the book is to be expanded by further chapters and published again, reports the US-American website “New York Post”, citing the “Sunday Times of London”.
Accordingly, the book by the authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand will appear in a new version in August this year. This should contain chapters on the death of Prince Philip (1921-2021) as well as Harry and Meghan’s interview with Oprah Winfrey (67). In addition, the book will deal with the relationship between Prince Harry and Queen Elizabeth II (95) and with the new life of the royal couple in Los Angeles, including their deals with streaming providers Spotify and Netflix.
“Finding Freedom” was already causing a lot of trouble
A court official told the Sunday Times that the book could cause further trouble within the royal family. “The Oprah interview blew up a bomb on the royal family and most of them are still staggering in shock. This book won’t help,” the anonymous source is quoted as saying. Another source reportedly asked: “After Oprah, what else is there to say?”
“Finding Freedom” is not in the public interest for the first time. It was not just the publication of the book that caused a sensation. In November 2020, British media reported that Duchess Meghan had apparently admitted to having leaked private information to the authors of the book. This emerged from court documents from the actress’ trial against the “Mail on Sunday”.
