Introduced a year and a half ago, CarPlay with support for multiple displays will still appear in cars. Transition will begin next year from Aston Martin and Porsche cars.
Media: Apple wants to “bind” drivers to its software
Despite the similarities, the interfaces of both brands are different. For example, Porsche has three circles on the dashboard, showing various useful information, as well as a grille in the background. It imitates the Pepita pattern, a black and white checkerboard pattern used in some Porsche versions for upholstery.
The appearance of the Aston’s tidy is more minimalist: the speedometer and tachometer surround a square information screen.
Porsche has not announced a release date for cars with the new generation of CarPlay, nor a model. Aston says the release will take place in 2024 with the release of the DB12 and DB12 Volante.
Probably, immediately after them, other brands of the Volkswagen Group, which includes Porsche, as well as Mercedes-Benz and Lucid, associated with Aston Martin, will receive the new CarPlay.
