Initially, 235 deputies registered in the hall, later there were 236. The nominees for ministers were also admitted to the meeting in the National Assembly.

The co-chairman of the PP Kiril Petkov presented the candidacy of Academician Nikolay Denkov for Prime Minister.

“In this room, we constantly discuss that Bulgaria is a country that currently has many problems to solve, but we rarely talk about Bulgaria being a country with many advantages and opportunities. I deeply believe that Bulgaria is a country with a bright future.” he said.

“The role of politicians and statesmen is that talented people can work for the progress of their society. The fact that Academician Denkov will lead the Bulgarian government in the first 9 months, and Maria Gabriel – in the second 9 months, gives me hope,” he said Petkov.

“I don’t know if everyone knows what it means to be a scientist with more than 10,000 citations in specialized journals and literature. This means that thousands of world scientists have used in their works quotes from Acad. Denkov. This proves that he is not only a wonderful scientist , but it is part of the global contribution to the development of humanity. Acad. Denkov places him in the 1% of scientists in his field in the world. He applied these scientific achievements in practice and dealt with the largest international companies in the field of chemistry and chemical products. Academician Denkov has extensive administrative experience as deputy minister and minister in several governments. Academician Denkov is a modest person and you will not hear him stand out. The fact that he does not work in our country, but is going to lead the country is an incredible opportunity for our country”, said Petkov.

About Maria, Gabriel Petkov said that she is “another great talent of Bulgaria”. A person who has proven himself to be a successful European leader in areas that drive economic development across Europe.

“Today, Denkov and Gabriel instill confidence in me that the union is possible when the most talented work together to take Bulgaria forward,” said Kiril Petkov.

He also highlighted the qualities of the nominees for ministers. He stated that two years of political campaigns are enough and it is time to show that Bulgaria can be a well-governed, fair European country without corruption, where every Bulgarian has the opportunity to live a normal European life.

Academician Nikolay Denkov, nominated for Prime Minister, called on the deputies to vote for a cabinet that has the expertise and courage to make important decisions and bear responsibility for them. He pointed out that in recent weeks PP-DB and GERB-SDS have made maximum efforts to prevent sixth consecutive elections.

“Mrs. Maria Gabriel and I will be responsible for the actions of this cabinet and we realize how difficult it will be in the coming weeks and months. We are convinced that we can do many useful and sustainable things for Bulgaria. My childhood dream was not to to be prime minister of a country in a severe economic and political crisis. My childhood dream was to be a scientist and I was able to realize it. That is why I am taking this risk now, with a clear commitment that if the government’s priorities are changed, I will resign.” he stated.

Today, we don’t give credit to trust, we give credit to time. A time when political passions need to be calmed down, a way to live together and to build trust must be found. Whether this time will be used constructively depends on the actions of the ministers who will be sworn in today. This was stated by Denitsa Sacheva before the National Assembly voted on the “Denkov-Gabriel” cabinet.

According to Sacheva, the responsibility of the ministers is huge, because “their actions will depend on whether Bulgaria is part of Europe, progress and development or remains a terrain for hybrid attacks, destructive hatred and at the eternal crossroads of unfulfilled dreams”.

“Vazrazhdane” defined what is happening in the National Assembly as unprecedented.

“We are really witnessing the execution of a classic velvet coup d’état. At the moment we are not discussing the cabinet of Bulgaria, at the moment we are discussing the office of the American ambassador”, Kostadin Kostadinov said.

According to the BSP, the Denkov-Gabriel cabinet is not a political compromise. The left said no to the coalition of immunities and war.

“Two behind-the-scenes cohorts in the name of their own survival. The parallel state is regrouping to resurrect itself and continue to rule. This regrouping is going through corpses in the last days literally, all wrapped in cellophane and presented to the people as a Euro-Atlantic government. Your Euro-Atlanticism is reduced to obedience and bending your back before the powerful. What you have given birth to today is a one-armed and two-headed Frankenstein,” said Cornelia Ninova.

The leader of the BSP described the future role of the president as follows: “Today, President Radev made the sharpest statement against this government. He is positioning himself as your opposition and the leader of the war against this government. This behind the scenes that is going on here is giving arguments to the father of chaos in the state.

And “Vazrazhdane” criticized the president. “This coalition of the accused is becoming a coalition of the doomed. The man who is responsible for forming this government is currently standing up there,” Kostadinov said.

“There is such a people” they called the new government – a coalition of lies.

“Mr. Borisov, when you look in the mirror, do you see Delyan Peevski, Mustafa Karadayi, Kiril Petkov, Asen Vasilev, Atanas Atanasov and Hristo Ivanov there. The answer is: yes, you see them, because you and these people are one and the same – shame for Bulgarian democracy. A regular cabinet, but its real name is the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen Fraudsters. Enough ala-bala,” said Filip Stanev.

ITN: The mafia model of management changes its dons, but the targets – not

The doyen of the parliament, Vezhdi Rashidov, said: the time has come for reason to prevail and nothing else.

“I made today’s decision very hard, colleagues. I sacrificed my fair emotions for the sake of Bulgaria. I will vote for a government in order to calm the passions and finally go on some path that brings creation. Stay low to the people, listen to them, understand them in order to serve them honestly,” Rashidov said.

Vezhdi Rashidov: I believe in the state and the Bulgarian people, I don’t believe in administrations

Nikolay Denkov responded to all criticisms and accusations. “This is a government for the European development of Bulgaria, for the benefit of people and business. This is its goal. Support it and then judge it by its actions,” he said.

Today, no one is coming to power – neither ours, nor yours, said Hristo Ivanov.

Hristo Ivanov: We have to solve a crisis of the social contract

“The motto of the parliament is already starting to look like ‘disunity makes strength’. And meanwhile, the state administration has moved to a form of presidential regime not provided for in the Constitution. And all this is happening against the background of the most complex geopolitical situation in generations. Today, Bulgaria has we need a government,” he said.
