Austria had a rocky start in the JVM, going through their second 11-0 league defeat on Friday night. Now it was Canada that was in charge of the crushing, and not least contributed by host nation super talent Connor Bedard.
The 17-year-old followed up last game, when he scored seven points, scoring six more. He now he scored a total of 14 points in the first three games. This means that he leads the points standings with twice as many points as the runner-up.
“I just want to contribute”
Furthermore, his two goals against Austria mean he has now scored 14 goals in the JVM contest, tying the Candian record held by Jordan Eberles.
– Not bad. A lot is bouncing my way now. Most of the stuff goes in, Bedard tells SVT Sport.
Canada’s next opponent in the tournament is the Junior crowns. The match will be played on New Year’s Eve, starting at 00.30.
