Bowers & Wilkins has launched the new 800 Diamond Series range, the brand’s top-of-the-line speakers, after exhaustive development work that took six years.
The brand wonders “how to improve the most successful and iconic range of high-end speakers in the world?” The solution found by the team of engineers was a new suspension.
By combining continuous improvement of every component in every design with innovative, proprietary technology that reimagines the fundamentals of a conventional speaker, Bowers & Wilkins engineers created the Biomimetic Suspension.
The new 800 Diamond Series range continues to feature seven models, starting with the 805 D4 twin-speaker bookshelf column. That’s joined by a range of three-speaker floor-standing models, including the 804 D4, 803 D4 and 802 D4. For the flagship model in the range, Bowers & Wilkins reintroduces an iconic name to its portfolio, with the launch of the 801 D4 replacing the existing 800 D3. Suitable for home cinema, the HTM81 D4 and HTM82 D4 provide a pair of high performance center channel speakers to complete the range.
Each new model in the range combines hundreds of detail enhancements plus several entirely new technologies to create the Bowers & Wilkins speaker series advertised as having the “most transparent, detailed and natural-sounding quality the manufacturer has ever produced”.
