New board for the anniversary

The new chairman of the board of the Literaturhaus Köln is Wolfgang Schmitz. He worked for the WDR for more than 40 years, including as radio director. Next to him the board of directors of the Literaturhaus Köln also welcomes two new assessors: inside: Kerstin Gleba, since 2019 Kiepenheuer & Witsch publisher and the architect Kaspar Kraemer. According to the statutes, Susanne Laugwitz-Aulbach, head of the cultural department, is a born member of the board.

With that the new board of directors of the Literaturhaus Köln together as follows:

Chairman of the Executive Board: Wolfgang Schmitz, Deputy Chairman: Volker Schaeffer, Treasurer: Bruno Wenn, Secretary: Ute Wegmann, Assessor: Kerstin Gleba, Dr. Hermann Hollmann, Kaspar Kraemer, Wolfgang Schiffer, Dr. Rolf Wickenkamp

After 25 years the previous chairman gives Ulrich Wackerhagen his board post. The previous members Eberhard Klein, Dominik Sack and Cornelia Zinken are also withdrawing from the board.

For the Literature House Cologne 2021 is a special year not only because of the new management: 25 years ago, on February 5, 1996, the Literaturhaus Köln was founded. Unfortunately, the originally planned anniversary celebration in Cologne’s town hall cannot take place due to Corona. Instead, the birthday comes with a magazine, a Film and a new homepage.

The non-profit association now has almost 700 members and has welcomed 3,200 authors and other guests to date.
