The blue card will be tested in football soon. The announcement should be made by IFAB (the association responsible for football rules) on Friday (8/2). High-level competitions (such as the World Cup), for the first time, are excluded from tests with the new product, which promises to move the world of football.
The new card will result in the player being removed from the match for 10 minutes. If the player receives two blue cards, or one yellow and one blue, he will receive the red card and be sent off.
Testing should begin in the European summer, in the FA Cup. The information is from the newspaper “The Telegraph”.
Another novelty
In addition to applying the blue card, IFAB is also studying a measure that would authorize only team captains to communicate with referees. The rule is seen by the organization as an effective way to combat “the cancer that kills football”. The standard already exists in other sports, such as rugby.
