New Blood Test Shows Promising Results in Diagnosing Hard-to-Detect Cancers

The test is effective in diagnosing hard-to-detect cancers such as head and neck, colon, lung, pancreas, and throat cancers.

The new development of British and American scientists showed progressive results. In particular, researchers are testing cancer diagnosis through a blood test.

About it writes “BBC News Ukraine”.

The first large-scale trials began in 2021 in the UK and the US. With the help of a test among five thousand people who visited doctors in England and Wales, cancer was unmistakably detected in two out of three cases. In addition, in 85% of cases, he also correctly identified the localization of the tumor.

“The mechanism of the test, which was given the name Gallery, is that it looks for signs of chemical changes that get from the tumor into the blood in the DNA genetic code. The test will also relieve the burden on the healthcare system,” the report says.

Despite the fact that today the development is at an early stage, scientists are convinced that the number of rescued patients will increase. And soon with the help of the “Gallery” it will be possible to quickly eliminate the most dangerous cause.

“Although now a negative test result is not a 100% guarantee of the absence of a disease in the body: tests did not detect cancer in 2.5% of test participants, although it was subsequently diagnosed using traditional methods – scans and biopsies,” the material states.

Previously, scientists have studied that Alzheimer’s diseaseusually diagnosed with an MRI and a range of other tests, could be diagnosed with an eye exam.
