“New Bing and Edge now generally available, Apple delivers emergency security response”

New Bing and Edge available to everyone

Emergency Security Response is a new feature that has been installed since iOS 16.4.1 / iPadOS 16.4.1 / macOS 13.3.1 that delivers important security improvements between traditional software updates. It may also be used as a mitigation to quickly address some security issues (such as exploitable vulnerabilities and reported cases of damage).

Emergency security support is only available for iOS 16.4.1/iPadOS 16.4.1/macOS 13.3.1 or later. Default settings automatically apply emergency security responses and prompt you to reboot your device if necessary.

After updating, a letter is added after the software version number. In this case, iOS/iPadOS is “16.4.1 (a)” and macOS is “13.3.1 (a)”. Also, if the automatic update for emergency security response is turned off, the corresponding correction contents will be included in the security update at a later date and distributed.
