Panama City, Panama/A new batch with 21,600 doses of bivalent vaccines against COVID-19arrived this Tuesday, March 28 in Panama.
He Ministry of Health (Minsa)through the Expanded Immunization Program (PAI)informed that the doses will be applied from 12 years onwards.
Itzel de Hewitt, EPI coordinatorstated that, with the new batch, the country has received 169,000 doses of bivalent vaccines.
Hewitt called on parents to reinforce their children from 5 to 11 years of age with the pediatric bivalent vaccine.
At the last weekly cut, a total of 8 million 862 thousand 649 doses have been applied and 123,971 doses of the bivalent vaccine have been inoculated throughout the country to people over 12 years of age and 1,719 doses to children from 5 to 11 years of age.
Where to get vaccinated?
Hewitt explained that the new batch of doses with the bivalent vaccine will be distributed equitably according to the population denominator, to all regions of the country. “Equally, public and private hospitals will have the same,” he added.
