(Nettavisen/Hamar Arbeiderblad): Nettavisen has access to brand new bankruptcy figures from Dun & Bradstreet.
A total of 332 bankruptcies were registered in January: 81 in construction, 76 in retail and 33 in hotels and restaurants. Here in Hedmarken, bankruptcy was opened in six companies in January: Among them Automobile Hamar.
In a major interview with HA on Friday, Omar Laarbi Zouhar and his son open up about the bankruptcy and the fact that they believe they have been misled.
– It is heavy on lead. One has cried some nights. It’s hard because…
– You feel it is so unfair, his son Sakarias interjects.
Top manager at Dun & Bradstreet, Kari Mette Almskog, tells Nettavisen that the warning lights light up especially for the retail trade.
– I think there is a simple explanation for that: Most people have been given less money, interest rates are rising and everything you need to buy has become more expensive, not least food which everyone must have. This means you have less money to buy things, she says.

Trend: – Items over NOK 1,000 do not sell
She highlights a trend that is taking hold:
– We have spoken to some of our customers, and what they see as a trend is that the expensive items do not sell. Low-price chains report that goods over NOK 1,000 do not sell.
Although we are only one month into the new year, Dun & Bradstreet’s analyzes indicate that there will be more bankruptcies than last year and in the years of the pandemic. Maybe also the years before.
– Most people can’t afford it, the weak krone means higher prices, interest rates are high and the equity is eaten up in many companies.
Elleville prices: – Save NOK 14,000
When Dun & Bradstreet looks into the fortune-telling ball, these are the industries that will be hit the hardest:
– It is hotels and restaurants, retail and construction that will struggle the most this year, as last year.
– Bad quarter for hotels and restaurants
– What developments do you see within hotels and restaurants?
– The figures look quite good for January, but there is probably only a slight delay after many companies have spent money on hotels and restaurants before Christmas. We know that the 1st quarter tends to be quite bad months for hotels, and with the current private economy, we expect an increasing trend of bankruptcies here.
Teknikmagasinet sells off after bankruptcy: Ellevilt price cut
– What do you know about how many liquidate before they had filed for bankruptcy?
– We have a good number of “deletions”. The only thing you can’t look at there is the development from month to month.
