Saturday morning’s attack and attack on the synagogue in East Jerusalem confirm fears of a new spiral of violence between Israelis and Palestinians.
The Israeli Prime Minister visited the scene of the attack on Friday evening and promised “immediate measures.”
Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli Prime Minister: “We must show composure. I call on the Israelis not to take justice into their own hands. Our security forces will act according to government directives”.

Israeli security forces say they shot the terrorist after a chase.
The killer was identified as a 21-year-old Palestinian resident of East Jerusalem.
The attack was greeted by scenes of jubilation in Ramallah and the Gaza Strip.
The Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas speaks of a “natural reaction to Israeli crimes”.
