New arrests in connection with deadly Bergen aan Zee shooting | Inland

On March 7, a 34-year-old man from Rijswijk was arrested, who has since been brought before a judge on the supervisory board and placed in custody.

Surrender procedure

The other two suspects, a 26-year-old man without a home address and a 25-year-old Dutchman, were arrested in Spain last week. They have been detained by the Spanish examining magistrate and are still in custody. The extradition procedure has been initiated.

All three suspects are in full restrictions, which means that they are only allowed to contact their lawyer.

The six Colombians who were arrested two days after the shooting on February 16 are still in custody. Their pre-trial detention was extended up to 90 days at the beginning of this month. They are suspected of possession of firearms and money laundering and no longer of murder. Whether the new suspects are the shooter (s) is still unknown.

Shooting

On February 16, several shots were fired in an apartment on the Zeeweg on the Van der Wijckplein in Bergen aan Zee. Not much later, the 45-year-old Colombian victim died of his injuries on the street in the center of the nearby village of Bergen.
