New Appointment: Pierre-François Mourier Named New Rector, Chantal Manès-Bonisseau to Retire

Pierre-François Mourier will thus replace the Reunionese Chantal Manès-Bonisseau, rector since 2020. Director General of France Éducation International (FEI), the agrégé in classical letters Pierre-François Mourier has notably been a professor at the University of Lille 3 or even Director of the Department of Human Sciences at the National School of Landscape in Versailles.

Pierre-François Mourier was also Jacques Chirac’s education and culture adviser in 2000, before joining New York and San Francisco as a cultural attaché. In 2012, he was also appointed French Ambassador to Slovenia. For her part, Chantal Manès-Bonisseau, who will retire in August, defended her record, in particular on the protection of children and teachers, the fight against school bullying, health, linguistic development, mastery of fundamentals or still equal opportunity.
