It’s definitely a lot of money, and you always have an Apple tax on top.
That said, the hardware is seriously impressive. The screens used have an unprecedented high resolution in VR glasses. The Varjo has 2880×2720 (15MP), the most expensive Vive has 2448×2448 (12MP) and the Meta Quest 3 has 2064×2208 (9MP). The Vision Pro has 23MP (everything is calculated over both eyes), so yes, that is quite a huge difference.
In addition, there is an M2 and the necessary other hardware.
On paper, these seem to be by far the best glasses. Whether this is the case, well, we’ll have to see, but if the product is really good, then I can certainly believe that people will buy this, without having to have the ‘fanboy’ label for it.
In any case, I am very curious, Apple is known for only entering a market when it is ready for broad use in their opinion, so yes, we will see.
Regardless, as tech fans we should applaud this kind of thing, because it’s another major player in the market delivering greatly improved tech. Ultimately, we are all better off for it.
