Visitors were able to get acquainted with the Land Component’s new vehicles – such as the armored recovery vehicles CRV Taurus and PRV Aurus – but also with the vehicles currently in service for presentations.
The French army had sent a copy of the future armored fighting vehicles that will be equipped with the motorized units of both countries – from 2025 for Belgium – the Griffon and the Jaguar, as well as a Serval, which has not yet been ordered by the Defense but for which the army has major has an interest.
The motorized brigade, the largest unit of the land component with approximately 7,500 troops, has fifteen Combined Arms Units, including five maneuver battalions. The brigade has a headquarters in Leopoldsburg (Limburg) and one in Marche-en-Famenne. A second open day will follow on 14 May in Leopoldsburg, with the participation of the medical component.
