According to Warner Music, “Delfi” is inspired by the seventeenth album in the Far East – “tactics and strategy” means “Senjutsu”.
The 82-minute album, similar to Iron Maiden’s previous track “The Book of Souls”, is available on a double CD and a three-part vinyl track. The album was recorded in Paris and is produced by Kevin Shirley and co-produced by co-founder Steve Harris.
Steve Harris says of the recording: “We decided to make the recording again in France, it is a place with a relaxed aura, everything we need. The building where the studio was set up used to have a cinema and high ceilings, so great acoustics. like making the previous album – we wrote the song, tried it out and immediately put it together while it was still completely fresh in our minds. Some of the songs are very complex, it took a long time for the recording to sound exactly the way we wanted, but Kevin is talented and knows how to catch a flight of thoughts. I am pleased with what has been done. “
Bruce Dickinson, the band’s lead vocalist, adds: “We are all very happy with the work done. The recording was made during 2019, during the break of our Legacy concert tour, to make the most of all resources. There are a couple of songs on the album that are different from our usual style, I hope “Iron Maiden” fans will be pleasantly surprised! “
Iron Maiden has sold more than a million records during their career, their concerts number over two thousand and gained millions of fans around the world. In turn, the previous record “The Book of Souls” has been the most successful in terms of world music charts, reaching the first position in 43 countries around the world.
