Further, they will reach the city center by replacement buses of the Warsaw Public Transport. This is guaranteed by the new communication agreement

Tepcza, which – after the protests of residents and local governments near Warsaw, was concluded at the last minute.

until July 2024

From September 3, the trains of the Warsaw Commuter Railway do not run to the Warszawa Zachodnia station, and therefore also to Śródmieście. At the last moment, after protests by residents and local governments near Warsaw, a new agreement was concluded with WTP (Warsaw Public Transport) on replacement transport.

The difficulties are related to the renovation of the WKD platform at the Warszawa Zachodnia railway station and are expected to last until July 2024.

WKD trains will run on the following routes: Grodzisk Mazowiecki Radońska – Warsaw Reduta Ordona and Podkowa Leśna Główna – Warsaw Reduta Ordona.

WKD informs that passengers at Warszawa Aleje Jerozolimskie and Warszawa Reduta Ordona stations will be able to change to Koleje Mazowieckie trains and public transport of the Public Transport Authority.

“At the Warszawa Aleje Jerozolimskie and Warszawa Reduta Ordona passenger stops, transfer points will be organized between WKD trains and ZTM vehicles and KM trains,” explained the carrier.

After mass protests by residents and local governments near Warsaw, who considered the proposed solution insufficient, the Warsaw Commuter Railway published a list of lines and sections of public transport routes that function as substitutes for the withdrawn WKD trains.

Substitute communication

From Monday, a new ZA1 bus line will be launched, running between stations and stops from which WKD trains are withdrawn.

The ZA1 line is launched on the PKP WKD Aleje Jerozolimskie – Dworzec Centralny route. The starting stop is to be located at Aleje Jerozolimskie, above the Warszawa Śródmieście WKD station, behind the Czterdziestolatka roundabout in the direction of Zawiszy Square. The line will run only on weekdays, i.e. from Monday, during the morning and afternoon rush hours, i.e. 5.00-9.30 and 14.30-19.00, approximately every 20 minutes.

Bus 158 on weekdays during the morning rush hours, i.e. 6.00-9.00, in extended runs from CH Reduta will arrive at the PKP WKD Aleje Jerozolimskie interchange stop, from where it will take passengers towards the Central Railway Station, supporting line 127.

honoring WKD tickets in public transport.

Mutual recognition of WKD tickets in public transport was introduced. It is valid on lines 127, 517, N35, N85: on the section PKP WKD Aleje Jerozolimskie – Dworzec Centralny; 717, 817: on the section PKP WKD Aleje Jerozolimskie – Dworzec Zachodni; 158: on the section CH Reduta – Dworzec Centralny; 178: on the section PKP WKD Aleje Jerozolimskie – Rondo Zesłańców Syberyskich; 187: on the section PKP WKD Aleje Jerozolimskie – Wawelska and 191: on the section PKP WKD Aleje Jerozolimskie – Plac Narutowicza. Under the latest agreement with WTP, also on line 220, departing from the Michałowice Commune towards the Warszawa Ursus district; honoring applies on the section of WKD Opacz – Ursus-Ratusz.

Honoring WKD tickets on SKM trains will also apply on the entire Pruszków – Warszawa Śródmieście/Warszawa Centralna section.

The WKD ticket will also be valid on trams of line 1: on the section Bitwy Warszawskiej 1920 – Plac Zawiszy and 7, 9, 25: on the section Bitwy Warszawskiej 1920 – Dworzec Centralny. And also on Koleje Mazowieckie trains on the section Warszawa Aleje Jerozolimskie – Warszawa Śródmieście.

The carrier informed that additionally only WKD season tickets are accepted on Koleje Mazowieckie trains on the Grodzisk Mazowiecki – Warszawa Śródmieście section.

Unfortunately, there will be confusion with the tickets. Due to the impossibility of validating a single WKD ticket on buses, trams and SKM/KM trains, passengers starting their journey in these vehicles are obliged to manually validate the single ticket in the place for the date stamp, permanently entering the date, time and minutes of the journey start .

On KM trains, they must board through the first door (counting from the front of the train) and report to the train manager to validate the ticket. More on
