New 3-Year Collective Bargaining Agreement: Increased Compensation and Royalties for Writers

According to the Los Angeles Times, the new 3-year collective bargaining agreement will increase compensation and give writers of series and films offered on streaming services more royalties. That is a percentage that a writer receives on the sales price of his work. The new agreements also include rules for the use of artificial intelligence (AI).

“What we have won is thanks to the willingness of members to show their solidarity, walk side by side and endure the uncertainty of the past 146 days. This deal is exceptional with important benefits,” said an email from the writers’ union that was immediately dispersed.
