The Octavia has an extremely important role in the Škoda range, as it is an absolute bestseller. In 2022, the brand from Mladá Boleslav sold 141,111 units of Octavia worldwide, i.e. significantly more than the second-placed Kamiq (96,300 units) and the third-placed Kodiaq (94,500 units). After four years on the market, it’s time for a facelift, which we will see soon.
This is indicated by the official trailer that Škoda released to the world at the start of the new year. So far, it has only shown us the revised light technology on the bow, but it is already clear from that that the new product will change significantly in the rejuvenated packaging. In higher trims, lights with Matrix LED technology will continue to be available, but with completely new graphics. It no longer resembles the former “four”, but gives a more aggressive impression.
Mladá Boleslav residents are keeping the rest of the news to themselves for now. However, we expect the Octavia to also get revised taillights, new bumpers on both ends of the body, revised alloy wheel designs and a new font on the rear.

This is what the front of the current Octavia looks like. From the trailer, it appears that the black plastic will disappear and the lights will continue into the bumper.
In the cabin, the biggest innovation should be a larger infotainment display with new software and expanded functions. It can be assumed that the designers will continue to play with the materials used inside and there will be several variants of the cabin with different trims and styles to choose from.
A year ago, the three-liter three-cylinder engine was completely removed from the engine range, which was still only purchased by a minimum number of customers. However, we do not expect further changes as part of the modernization. The offer will therefore remain the 15-litre petrol engine with a power of 110 kW, as well as the two-litre turbo diesels in several performance variants. The popular RS (including two-liter petrol) and Scout derivatives will also continue, and for fans of electrified drives, a plug-in hybrid combining a fourteen-cylinder engine with an electric motor must not be missing.
And when will the new Octavia be revealed to us completely? In its trailer, Škoda announces the premiere in February, but has not yet been more specific. We expect that we will know the exact date soon, in the meantime we will certainly be shown a handful of various details.
