The World Health Organization (WHO) has no data to reduce the effectiveness of existing coronavirus vaccines following the emergence of the Omicron strain.
The WHO does not consider it necessary to create new vaccines, as pharmaceutical companies need to make only minor changes in the composition of already developed drugs, Reuters reported.
A few days ago, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that it would take two to three weeks for scientists and pharmaceutical companies to study the new strain. Many companies have announced that they are starting to work on a vaccine against Omicron.
