Diana Dimitrova refused police to come in for questioning. The reason is that the actress cannot rely on her attorney, who is currently out of the country. She learned that “Bulgaria Dnes” from her sources in the ranks of the Metropolitan Directorate of Internal Affairs.
Yesterday the detectives, who are unraveling the beating of the actress, used her for questioning, but were surprised by her response: the star of “Stolen Life” flatly stated that she would not appear without her lawyer, currently at ‘abroad. “I really want you to attend the hearing,” the actress says.
The policemen have nothing to say, as this is Dimitrova’s constitutional right and they cannot force her to appear without a defense attorney. There are few cases in our country where, when the victim is called for questioning, she asks for a lawyer. It is extremely strange that Dimitrova insists so much on her defender, because she will be interrogated as a victim, not as a perpetrator.
The lawyer of the actress, who was arrested 5 years ago, has not specified to the authorities exactly when she will return. This will most likely happen after Christmas and December 29 is the legal deadline for the SDVR to conduct the questioning. The supervising prosecutor is unlikely to hold the cops accountable if they don’t carry out their instructions, because he’s no longer up to them.
The whole saga, which has kept the company in suspense for almost three weeks now, began after a surprising post by Dimitrova on his Facebook profile. In the post, she the actress claims she was beaten on set while on the job 5 years ago. Attached to the post were photos showing the bruises from the possible beating. Both on her face and on her hand.
The next day, the Sofia District Prosecutor’s Office reports itself and launches an investigation, which of course is proceeding rather slowly, but it’s not their fault alone: there are deadlines!
After Dimitrova has been questioned, the SDVR will call to question the person named by the actress as a witness. The actress has to provide details of the case and if her story is credible, the cops will have to question about 30 people. There are so many people who witnessed how this bully threatened Dimitrova that she would hit her again. That’s what the “Stolen Life” star herself says in her post. The interrogation will take place after Christmas, and possibly even after New Year’s.
