Michael Jackson bought Neverland Valley Ranch in 1988 and named it after the original name of Neverland Peter Pan. He lived there until 2005, that is four years before his death. The villa became known after Jackson was accused of child molestation in the early 2000s, carried out right inside the villa; after the property was searched by the police, the singer said he no longer wanted to live there. Since 2008, the residence was partly owned by Colony Capital, an investment fund that Jackson had borrowed to solve his financial problems. After Jackson’s death the property was renamed Sycamore Valley Ranch.
