Never Won the Champions League!

Kirkby

defender Liverpool Trent Alexander-Arnold talk about his team’s competition with Manchester City. The 23-year-old player brought up the achievements of The Citizens who are only ‘good at home’.

Over the last four seasons, only Liverpool and Man City have been able to win the Premier League. In detail, the Reds won one trophy and Pep Guardiola’s squad won three times.

But Man City is arguably more successful on the domestic scene. In the above period, they also won the FA Cup, and dominated the English League Cup for 4 consecutive years. This season, they have the opportunity to win the Premier League again.

Even so, Trent did not feel jealous of Man City’s achievements. That’s because Liverpool already has a title that his rival does not have, namely the Champions League trophy which he got in 2019.

“We don’t feel disappointed if we haven’t won a lot of trophies, because what we have got is the biggest and best you can get,” he said. Trentquoted by The Guardian.

“Not to be sarcastic, but look at the Man City team who are so amazing, and they haven’t won the Champions League. They’ve won the Premier League a few times, but the Champions League hasn’t.”

Even so, Trent also hopes Liverpool can consistently win trophies. Do not let the achievements of last season without a title repeat itself.

“We’ve won both in recent years, and that shows we can achieve it. There is an expectation now, as a team and a player, to win trophies. One trophy every season is the minimum we have to achieve,” continued Trent.

“With the team and manager we have, we should have won a lot of trophies. Hopefully so. This is no longer the stage where we are happy to reach the final and then relax. There is hope we can do it consistently every season,” explained Trent.

Liverpool will face Inter Milan at the San Siro, Thursday (17/2/2022) at 03.00 WIB. This match can be watched via streaming on Vidio and SCTV.
