– Never seen it so bad

On the night of 17 May, there were a large number of incidents for the country’s police districts.

In Oslo there were several large parties.

– There has been a lot of intoxication and a lot of noise. Among other things, there was a large gathering at St. Hanshaugen with russ and youth, said operations manager Christian Khron Engeseth in the Oslo police to Dagbladet early Tuesday morning.

He further says that it was still not the big events at the party.

– The patrols on site worked well preventively, Engeseth said.

When Dagbladet was in the park on Monday night, it was packed.

The next day the park is full of rubbish. There are Russian cards, empty goods and glass bottles everywhere.

– In excess

– I have never seen it so bad, says Roy Gustavsen to Dagbladet on Tuesday morning.

For the past ten years, he has worked to clean up the city’s parks for the urban environment agency in Oslo municipality.

– We tried to clean up last night, but the police only said that we should stay away because there were certain wild conditions. Police estimated that there were 4,000 to 5,000 people in the park, he says.

This is not the first time Gustavsen has cleaned up after a party night in the park at St. Hanshaugen.

– We knew it was going to be bad, but this is a little over. The worst thing is that there is a lot of glass, because people who live in the area here use the park to air the dogs and it is difficult to remove all the glass, he says.

– We will clean up a little more, but we will probably not be finished today, Gustavsen says around eight o’clock.

– Shocking and disgusting

In the middle of the lawn in the park, neighbor Cecilie Wollebæk stands with her dog and looks at the remains of yesterday’s festivities.

– It’s shocking and disgusting. Just the thought of children coming up here and celebrating later today, she says.

Wollebæk has lived on St. Hanshaugen for many years.

– In recent years, it has gotten worse and a lot of broken glass has arrived. It has never been like this, she says while taking care so the dog does not step on glasses or eat old kebab leftovers.
