Several places in Greece have been in the last 24 hours affected by forest fire. That’s what the news channel writes CNN.
Earlier this evening, a message was sent out to the residents in the nearby areas where there was a fire, that they had to evacuate.
– Never seen anything like it
– If you are in the areas of Penteli, Nea Penteli, Drafi, Dau Pentelis, Dioni and Kallitechnoupoli, stay ready and follow the instructions from the authorities. Forest fire in your area, it says in the message.
Norwegian Øyvind Langnes is on holiday in Greece and is now in Athens, a short distance from where the fire is now raging.
– It got bigger
– We saw dark clouds at 1pm, but it was only when it got completely dark that you saw that something was starting to develop.

That’s what Langnes says, who is on holiday with his girlfriend Jasmin. The two were watching the sunset at the Philopappos monument in Athens when they spotted the fire.
– We sat and watched the sunset, and then we went out to a lookout point. That’s when we saw the fire. It got bigger while we were sitting there – in 15 minutes it had doubled in size, says the Norwegian.
– Endless flames
The couple are in the center of Athens when Dagbladet comes into contact with them.
– It was very interesting. I have never seen anything like that before, he says.
